Tony & Angel Short Film Boards

When I first arrived in New York I hit up craigslist looking for PA work. Thats how I met the director of this project. I'm helping a production crew put a short film together. I storyboarded the whole thing. I'm also designing the poster. Will post that up as soon as I'm finished with it.

I'm actually kinda glad I linked up with these guys. I knew hardly anyone when I moved out here. I met seven friends my first week. I can't wait to see NYC in the Spring and Summer. More opportunities are sure to blossom.

I haven't posted something in ages. Working on a commission right now. Will be back with more really soon!

"Untitled" Project Previsual

This is a cinematic Previs for the project I'm working on. I'm still working on the script, but I wanted to dish out a quick visual on how one of my scenes would look like. This is a freestyle battle between two mcees.

I got the outline of my story worked out. Now I'm just building my sequences which is equally as challenging.

Superman and Hunting Season revisions

Wanted to update these. Made some improvements in the rendering and texture. And for the Superman, it actually looks like planet earth now :)

Happy 4th of July!!! // Wonder Woman

Happy 4th of July! Finally completed my Wonder Woman illo. I think I'll do Spider-Man next to show Marvel some love too. The model that posed for the photo reference is Ana Maria Reyes. She was awesome and super nice for helping me out. She's a freelance TV host and interviewer. I did this one using Corel Painter just like I did the Superman. I wanna go back to traditional work. Digital is kool and all, but as much as I try to paint it using textured brushes such as impasto, it still has that digital crisp look and lacks the textured traditional quality I'm looking for. In any event, I'm going to focus on some other stuff I have to get done and practice some more drawing before getting started on Spidey.

Superman

Here's the Superman Illo. I gotta learn how to paint planets better. But I've decided to let it be for now. I'm going to show this one off tomorrow at Supercon. Hopefully I'll get some good feedback. Next: Wonder Woman.

I really wanna be in the same VIP room as Adam Hughes and Alex Ross, that is - I want my illustrations to look as realistic as possible. And that means I gotta beef up the draftsmanship. Draftsmanship is the key to painting realistically. I've been studying heavily from Andrew Loomis. Hopefully if I can get a damn scanner I'll be able to post stuff up from my sketchbook.

Wonder Woman is gonna be better! Gotta get better!

Superman Thumbs

Here are some thumbnails I'm working on for the Superman illustration I'm doing for Comic Con's portfolio review. Gotta beef up the port. I've been studying religiously from Andrew Loomis. I want this piece to look realistic. It's going to be painted digitally. So let me know what you think guys! Any suggestions would be helpful.

Hunting Season Album Spread

Still gotta work some things out with the client. Little tweaks here and there as well as typography discussions. But this is the finished piece. Pretty proud of it. All I need is to hit the buildings with some textures, fix up the windows and it's good to go.
